Ken Bard Cup |
| 14th
Annual MVGCSA Shoot at Pike Run and Ken Bard Cup |
|
This year the 14th annual Shoot at Pike
Run and monthly Mountain & Valley Golf Course Superintendents
association meeting, hosted by Rick Kanuch, provided cold
weather conditions with overcast skies and very little wind.
Approximately 25
shooters competed for the coveted Ken Bard Cup, which was named
after the long time turf equipment salesman for Krigger & Company. Ken
was a long time friend of Rick Kanuch and he was the salesman who called
on many of the members of the MVGCSA. |

This year's winner's circle includes
first-time champion, Tim Fitzgerald from Krigger & Company, past
winner Dave Livingston from Penn State University Turf Research, and
also new to the winner's circle, Clint Minock from Cherry Creek Golf
Course . |

This year's winner of the Ken Bard Cup was Tim Fitzgerald, President of
Krigger & Company, who has been a shooter
in the event since its inception. Tim was first influenced to
participate in shooting sports by Ken Bard and by the host of the event,
Rick Kanuch. Tim won in a shoot-off by defeating past
champion, Dave Livingston, who always seems to finish in the winner's
circle. Third place was awarded to Clint Minock, who also had to win in a shoot-off over
John Nurminen. Clint is the Mechanic/Assistant at Cherry Creek Golf
Course and works for John who is the superintendent. |
