Krigger & Company along with Jacobsen hosted a dinner for the
Oakmont Country Club grounds crew and volunteers on Saturday
evening (June 9th). After the dinner John Zimmers Jr., Golf Course
Superintendent, said some kind words thanking Krigger and
Jacobsen for the dinner and the support given before and during
the tournament.
The grounds crew enjoyed a hot meal in their air conditioned
tent. They were also pleased to find out that all member
and guest play had been completed until after the tournament and
they could devote their full attention to tournament preparation
for the 2007 US Open. Volunteers were there from other courses
and many more would be there soon. John made a point to thank
his Oakmont crew for their hard work and was excited to let them
know that "Help is on the way."

The
crew quickly moved through the buffet line to fill their plates
with the variety of food available.
The
Jacobsen HR-9016 waited patiently on the wash pad before heading
out to mow rough. At 16 ft. wide and set to mow at a 6" height
this machine is scheduled to mow rough every day during the
tournament.
The tent facility setup for the
grounds crew and volunteers provides a comfortable retreat
between the hard work required to put on an event as large as
the US Open.
The
crew and volunteers listened while John Zimmers went over the
evening assignments.
John Zimmers was joined at dinner by Keith Happ, Paul Latshaw
Sr., and his assistant, Dave Delsandro before speaking to the
crew and volunteers. John chose the corner next to the banner of
his alma mater, Rutgers University.
